Dr. McLean is an educator at Mount Royal University in the Departments of Justice Studies and Social Work. He is also an adjunct faculty member at Red Crow Community College (social work) and CityU of Seattle (Master of Arts in Counselling). He is a forensic social worker and is registered in the province of Alberta and is Board Certified in Forensic Traumatology with the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress. Scott has worked in various social and justice agencies and is a past Board Member for the Children’s Cottage in Calgary and currently is a member of the Mount Royal University Advisory Committee – Conflict Resolution Program. Scott provides numerous training and building capacity opportunities on the topic of trauma in western Canada and is also the facilitator of the recently formed Calgary Homicide Support Group. Dr. McLean recently authored a Chapter in a book published in 2012, titled Children First: Protecting Their Rights – based on the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.
