Do you have what it takes to make a difference to victims of crime and tragedy in your community?

 Basic qualifications:

  • Police Enhanced Security Clearance – specific to police agency to which the Victim Service Unit is associated
  • Ability to manage one’s own emotions during high stress situations
  • Maintain confidentiality in accordance with program policy
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Integrity
  • Attend al mandatory training sessions
  • Desire to assist victims of crime and tragedy in your community
  • 18 years or older
  • Some agencies require Canadian Citizen/Landed Immigrant status but RCMP-based programs can consider individuals who have resided in Canada for a minimum of 5 years
  • Valid drivers license (mandatory in most areas but not all)
